The Youth Changemaker Award is open to all students aged 14 to 18 at the time of registration.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, countries, and communities."

Participation
Requirements

  • Team-based participation only: All entries must be submitted by teams of 3 to 10 members. Collaboration is essential to changemaking.

 

  • Registration Fee: A flat fee of 40 USD per participant is required upon registration.

  • Need-based Waiver: If you face financial hardship, you may apply for a fee waiver. Please submit a brief letter explaining your situation, along with any supporting documents. We are committed to ensuring that financial limitations do not prevent anyone from joining.

HOW TO
PARTICIPATE

STEP 1

Form Your Team & Register

Form a team of 3–10 motivated changemakers. Then, use the registration link below to sign up your team and pay the participation fee.

Registration Deadline in 2025-2026:
December 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST


*We recommend saving at least 3–4 months to complete your project.

STEP 2

Complete a YCA Project

Your project will form the core of your competition entry.

 

It should consist of 3 key components as below:

Look back to move forward.

 

  • What did you learn?

  • What worked — or didn’t?

  • How did this journey change you?

B.
Learn and Act

Understand the problem, then take action.


Do your research: talk to people, read, explore.

 

Then design a small, practical solution — even if it’s just helping one person or one place.

Find What Matters

Choose a real-world problem that speaks to you.

 

It can be social or environmental — local or global.


What matters is that you care deeply about it.

STEP 3

Present Your Project

You’ll need to submit a:

  • PowerPoint presentation outlining your YCA project

  • Video presentation (maximum 20 minutes) explaining:

    • Your problem statement

    • Your research process

    • Your project design

    • Actions you took and their impact

    • What you’ve learned from the experience

 

Note: Your video will be judged on its content, not editing quality.

STEP 4

Finalist Interviews

By March 31, 50 finalist teams from around the world will be invited to online interviews with our global panel of sustainable development experts.

 

These interviews will determine the final award winners.
